Intermediate Flunky

Evidently Lucy has amnesia. She doesn't remember how to sit, stay, or even lay down. We had her final exam for intermediate dog school last night and she failed miserably. Oh well, guess we are going to summer school.

Happy 5 Month Birthday

My little puppy princess turned 5 months today. I took her to pet smart for her first big girl haircut. She is funnier and sweeter than ever and her big milestones this month have been that she can jump not only on the couch, but all the way up on our bed. She loves to be outside on the patio and all of the neighbors stop by to visit with her. Currently her favorite toy is a little soccer ball that the mail woman gave to her and basically anything she is not supposed to have. We woke up the other morning and she ate up a check, a cookbook, and Rob's glasses. We hope she learns the value of money a little sooner than later. The jury is still out on her haircut. It barely looks like her!

My little cherry blossom

So technically today Lucy turned 16 weeks old. Her actual birthday was December 16th, so I am not quite sure if today is her 4 month old birthday or next Saturday is her birthday. Either way, it has been a crazy and awesome 8 weeks with her. She is funny, sweet, and an all around great puppy. We love her so much.

14 weeks

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too. ~Samuel Butler, Notebooks, 1912

First Play Date at the Dog Park

Today we took Lucy to play with Orla, another westie puppy girl who is only 2 days older than her. They had SUCH a great time. Lucy of course was her outgoing enthusiastic self. Orla was a bit more reserved, but totally came out of her shell towards the end of the playdate.
